Faced with the sudden earthquake disaster, the state power departments have swiftly taken comprehensive countermeasures. According to the latest information on the 13th from Xinhua News Agency, the State Grid Corporation has urgently mobilized repair teams, power generator cars and electricity supplies to support the disaster-affected areas.

Meanwhile, basic work including power grid repair and recovery in blackout regions, and earthquake-hit areas with damaged power facilities and human casualties are proceeding urgently under the unified command of the State Grid. 

Personnel have been sent to Aba, Sichuan and Longnan, Gansu with disrupted communication and transport to understand the situation and timely report the local information. 

It is learnt that in key locations of Sichuan and Chongqing, emergency equipment like power generator cars have been put into use.

Earlier, the State Grid urgently had launched the contingency plan when the earthquake occurred, and successively issued three emergency notices like “Emergency notice on guaranteeing power supply for important and high-risk users in the disaster rescue and relief work”

It is reported that, the power system will fully guarantee power supply for important users like subways, telecommunication and hospitals, and residents according to the deployment of power grid companies. They will step up efforts on repair and recovery of power grids. Priority will be given to restoring power supply for key units and users, and repair teams and power supplies will to delivered to disaster-afflicted areas. 

A spokesman from State Grid Corp. told Xinhua on the 13th that they had been well prepared for the disaster. The relevant units and personnel are closely monitoring dams of hydropower stations, conducting special patrols on important circuits and transformer stations, rationally arranging operation modes of power grids, and preparing for aftershocks. 

According to the deployments of the State Grid, security work in key power operation locations have been fully strengthened to prevent the entry of irrelevant personnel.
